Not a bad list! Tough to leave off 8 & 1/2, Run Lola Run and Nosferatu...but that's half the fun of these lists; everyone has a different say.

Not sure I can break down a top 5, but a few of the movies that have stayed with me since first seeing them:

-Talk To Her
-The Beat That My Heart Skipped
-Oldboy, Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance, and Sympathy For Lady Vengeance
-Playing The Victim
-City Of God
-Seven Samurai
-Triad Election
-Volver

That’s just what comes to mind. I’m sure there’s more, I would just need time to dig deep. Could be awhile.

Such a tough question! Do you go classic French cinema? Korean new wave? Obscure non-theatrical titles? I'm lucky enough to attend a lot of festivals and thus see a bunch of titles that never make it to the big screen in the U.S. Two that pop into my head are the German drama FOUR MINUTES http://www.amazon.com/Vier-Minuten-Chris-Kraus/dp/B0011V5HZA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1205870499&sr=1-2 (which has one of my favorite endings - really a powerful finale) and the Romanian period piece THE WAY I SPENT THE END OF THE WORLD  http://www.amazon.com/Way-I-Spent-End-World/dp/B000Y3ALXY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1205870628&sr=1-1.  Neither got a real U.S. release, though both are out on dvd now and worth checking out.

I spent too much time in movie theatres when I was younger.

My list of top foreign films includes

My Best Friend's Girl--by Bertrand Blier
Three Brothers--by Franco Rossi
My Life As A Dog--by Lasse Hallstrom
Ikiru--by Akira Kurosawa
Jonah Will Be 25--Alain Tanner

There's lots more where these came from
